RinGSSSSS!

I'm finally getting around to making some rings.  I'm not exactly sure what the final product will be yet.  I'm thinking plain, stackable but each one will be a one of a kind.

Rosary

I just finished this rosary.  I usually purchase vintage rosaries and replace the centerpiece and crucifix but decided to try to wire wrap one myself.  It consists of Swarovski pearls and labradorite stone wired with sterling silver.

Silver after firing

This is what the silver looks like before it is oxidized and polished.  These pieces are for the rosary that I'm finishing up tonight.

New Rosary

I'm working on a new rosary and should have it up by tonight.  I'm using white Swarovski pearls and Labradorite stone.

Man on Wire

I'm not sure how I've gone my entire adult life without knowing about this incident but at least I found it now.  There really are no words to describe and I highly suggest that you watch the movie for yourself.  It's called Man on Wire and is fairly self explanatory.  Old french guy describes his wire walking from the top of the twin towers with footage and his accomplices.  Really, really remarkable.  The line that stuck out the most for me was when he was being arrested all of the reporters kept asking him "why, why, why"...his response was so profound, as was the entire event.  He said that there was no "why" and in his interview for the movie he said that that was such a typical American point of view.  Instead of just appreciating the event we have to know why.  Obviously, that's a stereotype and a generalization but pretty accurate if you really ponder it for awhile.  A truly profound moment in history.

Long Beach Parrots

If you live in Long Beach (which most of you probably don't) you get used to the tons of parrots and their constant racket throughout the city but last week they were up to no good. I went out in my backyard where there were around 10-15 parrots in my tree and they were just chomping off the new branches and letting them fall on my deck. What the...? Does anyone know the purpose behind this? They did it for around 30 minutes and then flew off together like they suddenly had something more important to do. Not hard to imagine since trimming my tree doesn't seem like that important of a job for a parrot.

I was checking out different art site and blogs today and stumble across this really cool customizable print.  I thought it was a strange coincidence that they used the same letters as I did for my custom forever pendant so thought I would do a post about it.

I'm still working on the changes. Got a bit overwhelmed over the last few days but it should be done by the end of the week and will have some new pieces added based on some requests.
